Iranian officials have notified the family of Kurdish political prisoner Habibollah Golparipour that he was executed on October 26.
On March 15, 2009, Habibollah Golparipour was sentenced to death by the first branch of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court. The trial lasted five minutes. He was sentenced to death on charges of “Moharebeh” (Enmity against the God) and membership in a Kurdish opposition party.
According to other reports, Iranian authorities have executed 16 Balouchi political prisoners in Zahedan on charges of “Moharebeh.” Their identities are still not known.
There is also strong concern that two other Kurdish political prisoners, the brothers Zanyar and Loghman Moradi, will be executed in a near future.
