PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces Operation Against Two Iranian Military Bases

Yesterday, September 6, PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces carried out two separate operations against two Iranian military bases near the city of Bokan in eastern (Iranian) Kurdistan.

In a statement, the Peshmerga Forces Operational Command informed that the first operation was carried out against an Iranian military base in the vicinity of the village of Nachit. The base was completely destroyed at 10:30 PM.

The second operation was carried out against an Iranian military base in the vicinity of the village of Sarchnar. The base was taken over at 12:10 PM.

The Peshmerga Forces Operational Command will provide further information on these operations in due course.

These operations were conducted following a number of terrorist attacks and ambushes against PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces and the party’s officials in eastern Kurdistan by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRC). They were also carried out the backdrop of a wave of executions of Kurdish political prisoners and prisoners of conscience and the daily killing of Kurdish civilians who work as Kolbar.

The Kolbar in Kurdistan are the most impoverished and vulnerable. They carry goods on their back from southern (Iraqi) Kurdistan back to eastern Kurdistan in difficult terrain. This activity is their only source of income. Aside from stealing their goods, members of the IRGC kill Kurdish Kolbars on a daily basis.
