These soldiers, who had been deployed to the Mariwan region, have been prosecuted for their reluctance to fight a Peshmerga platoon present in the region.

Clashes between PDKI’s Peshmergas Forces and Iran’s armed forces broke out on June 25 in Sawlawa, a mountainous area of Mariwan, and continued until July 5. More than 20 members of Iran’s terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) have been killed during those ten days. Unfortunately, five of our brave Peshmergas were martyred in the clashes in Sawlawa.

The Iranian regime reinforced its troops in Mariwan by bringing IRGC soldiers from Khorramabad and Kermanshan (Kermanshah). The reason for this, it later turned out, was that 150 Iranian soldiers were reluctant to fight the Peshmergas in Mariwan.

According to reliable reports, 80 of these soldiers were originally stationed in Mariwan and 70 of them had been brought from other regions. According to the same reports, a number of commanders are among those who have been prosecuted for their reluctance to fight PDKI’s Peshmergas.

Meanwhile, ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has fired four commanders of the IRGC and replaced them with others since clashes broke out between PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces and Iran’s Islamic revolutionary guards on June 15, 2016.

Sources within the Iranian military have revealed that the regime intends to cover up the losses of its armed forces by attributing them to the war in Syria.

Following ten days of heavy clashes between PDKI’s Pesgmerga Forces and Iran’s armed forces in the Mariwan region of eastern (Iranian) Kurdistan during the past two weeks, Iran arrested and prosecuted 150 of its own soldiers.
