On Saturday, 22 November 2025, at the invitation of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan’s (PDKI) Foreign Relations in Australia, Senator Paul Scarr and his office head, Jetson Sandrop, visited Adelaide, where they were welcomed by PDKI members and the local Kurdish community.<\/p>\n
Baba Rezaei, the head of the PDKI committee in Adelaide, opened the event and thanked Senator Scarr for his ongoing support. Senator Scarr emphasized that his solidarity with the Kurds began with the Jina (“Women, Life, Freedom”) uprising, and he discussed his ongoing efforts to have the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) listed as a terrorist organization in Australia, as well as his efforts to close the Iranian embassy and expel Iran\u2019s ambassador. He noted that he had refused the Iranian ambassador’s multiple requests to meet and distanced himself from the Kurdish community.<\/span><\/p>\n The gathering also addressed the challenges that Kurdish refugees face in Australia, the Kurdistan Region, and Turkey, as well as ways to support their asylum claims.
