On Monday, January 19, 2026, the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran convened for its sixth plenum. During the session, members reviewed the current situation in Iran following the uprising, the opposition’s stance toward the Islamic Republic, and the opportunities and challenges facing the Kurdish movement. Several internal and organizational party matters were also discussed, and necessary decisions were made regarding various party duties and projects.<\/p>\n
The plenum also addressed recent developments in Syria and Rojava, as well as the escalation of war and conflict in the region. The plenum stated that the events taking place in Aleppo and other parts of Syria against the Kurdish people are a continuation of the longstanding wars waged against them. They noted that these actions reflect the persistence of policies inherited from past regimes that consistently responded to Kurdish demands for rights with massacres and demographic change.<\/p>\n
The plenum emphasized that genocide and ethnic cleansing cannot resolve political differences. The plenum affirmed that the Kurdish nation, which has shed blood and made sacrifices throughout history in pursuit of its legitimate rights, will not be deterred from continuing its struggle.<\/p>\n
The plenum concluded that recognizing the equality and legitimate rights of the Kurds and all other groups in the country, as well as resolving disputes through dialogue, is the only genuine and sustainable solution to the current situation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
