Today, the SP Switzerland hosted a special Newroz event at the Federal Palace in Bern under the motto \u201cFreedom and Unity.\u201d Attendees included SP parliamentarians and representatives from Kurdish parties and organizations across all parts of Kurdistan.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Midia\u00a0Piroti,\u00a0<\/span>PDKI\u00a0representative<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span>Switzerland,\u00a0<\/span>opened the event, stressing the need for united and solidary action by Kurds in the diaspora to effectively advance their shared concerns in Swiss politics.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

National\u00a0Councillor\u00a0Fabian Molina\u00a0called\u00a0for\u00a0Kurdish\u00a0unity,\u00a0praised\u00a0their\u00a0enduring\u00a0struggle\u00a0for\u00a0freedom,\u00a0democracy, and\u00a0peace, and\u00a0highlighted\u00a0the\u00a0importance\u00a0of\u00a0international support.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr.\u00a0Carlo Sommaruga addressed the ongoing precarious situation of Kurds in all parts of\u00a0Kurdistan, reaffirmed SP Switzerland\u2019s solidarity, and underscored the continued fight for human rights, political rights, and security in the region.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0afternoon\u00a0focused\u00a0on\u00a0dialogue\u00a0and\u00a0political\u00a0exchange\u00a0between\u00a0Kurdish\u00a0representatives\u00a0and SP\u00a0parliamentarians.
