Meeting with the Red Party (Rødt) at the Norwegian Parliament
On Monday, 19 January 2026, a PDKI delegation consisting of Amir Babakhani, the PDKI representative to Norway, and Idris Abde, participated in a meeting that also included several other Kurdish and Iranian political parties and groups.
The meeting was organized by the Norwegian Red Party (Rødt) and one of its members of parliament, Mr Bjørnar Moxnes. The main purpose of the meeting was to obtain more detailed information about the situation in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran.
During the meeting, the PDKI delegation pointed out that, due to the lack of direct communication channels, gathering information has been difficult. Nevertheless, based on information from reliable sources, a list of the victims and political prisoners was presented to the participants, who pledged to raise these issues in parliamentary sessions.
The party’s representatives also requested that the member of parliament urge the Red Party to ask the Norwegian government to establish contact with the Norwegian embassy in Iran in order to obtain more comprehensive and up-to-date information from inside the country.
Furthermore, they called for a clear stance by the party in favor of imposing stronger economic sanctions on the Iranian regime. The party representatives emphasized their support for any effective measures that would further weaken and ultimately dismantle the Iranian regime.
In conclusion, the PDKI delegation presented an official letter in support of the legitimate rights of the people of Kurdistan, along with several credible documents, to the parliamentarian. They also stressed the importance of continued international support from Norwegian political authorities.
