PDKI Delegation Meets with Swedish Social Democrats to Discuss Iran and Kurdistan
On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, a delegation from the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) held a meeting with several members of the Swedish Social Democratic Party.
The PDKI delegation consisted of Renas Khazri, the party’s representative in Sweden; Dr. Sozan Fathi, a member of the PDKI Department of Foreign Relations; and
Aziz Seydnajadian, an associate of the PDKI representation in Sweden.
The host delegation from the Swedish Social Democrats included Ola Möller, head of the Kurdistan–Sweden Committee; Members of Parliament Kadir Kasirga and Leif Nysmed; and Sana Eliasson, head of the Olof Palme Center.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the current situation in Iran and Kurdistan, the past two weeks of protests, and the repressive actions and human rights violations committed by the Islamic Republic against the protesters.
The PDKI delegation emphasized the important role of pro-democracy forces in uniting the Iranian opposition around shared democratic goals, highlighting the PDKI’s involvement in this process.
The delegation also outlined its expectations for support from the Swedish government and the Social Democratic Party for the Kurds and the peoples of Iran.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Social Democrats praised the unity and coordination among Kurdish political parties in Eastern Kurdistan. They expressed hope that this cooperative, unified approach would continue.Formulärets överkant
