PDKI representative meets with Swedish MP

On Thursday, 27 November 2025, Ms. Renas Khezri, the PDKI representative to Sweden, met with Mr Serkan Köse, Swedish MP from the Social Democratic Party and member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Ms Khezri briefed Mr Köse on the situation in Eastern Kurdistan, emphasizing recent developments and the Iranian regime’s intensifying repression. This includes high execution rates, mass arrests, and a complete lack of legal due process. She emphasized the resilience of Kurdish youth and women in the face of severe punishments.

Mr. Köse agreed to convey the party’s concerns and proposals to his colleagues and to explore future cooperation projects. He emphasized that maintaining ongoing communication is crucial for him and his colleagues to effectively represent the voices of those advocating for freedom in Kurdistan specifically, and in Iran more broadly.

At the end of the meeting, a compiled human rights report on Iran was presented to Mr. Köse. The report showed significantly higher levels of abuse in Kurdistan compared to other regions.
