Iran Resorts to Indiscriminate Shelling of Southern Kurdistan

Following heavy clashes between PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces and Iran’s terrorist Islamic Guards (IRGC), Iran has now resorted to indiscriminate shelling of the border area between eastern (Iranian) and southern (Iraqi) Kurdistan. The indiscriminate shelling has been extended to civilian populated areas inside South Kurdistan. Meanwhile, a PDKI commander called on young Kurdish women and men to join PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces to defend the Kurdish people.
After suffering heavy casualties in clashes with PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces during the past two weeks, the terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guards has systematically shelled Kurdish villages and rural areas in eastern Kurdistan.
The Iranian military has now extended this terrorist campaign to the border area between eastern and southern Kurdistan, as well as civilian populated areas inside southern Kurdistan. Shelling of the border area and civilian populated areas began at 09:00 AM and has since then continued unabated according to the Kurdish media outlet Rudaw.
Iran is using the presence of PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces as a pretext to shell civilian populated areas in both eastern and southern Kurdistan.
Iran has shelled Kellashin, Doli Alana, Rash Harman and Kuna Re in the border area of Haji Omeran. Haji Omeran is located in the Choman district of Erbil province in South Kurdistan. Rudaw reports that five civilians, including three children, have been injured as a result of Iranian shelling of Haji Omerean.
Kawa Bahrami, a Peshmerga Commander and member of PDKI’s leadership, called on young Kurdish women and men to join PDKI’s Peshmerga Forces to defend the Kurdish people against Iranian aggression.
Bahrami underlined the fact that for the past 37 years, the Islamic Republic has systematically oppressed the Kurdish people, stolen the wealth of Kurdistan, and its intelligence agencies have spread narcotics among Kurdish youth to destroy the fabric of Kurdish society.
“This is a new uprising spearheaded by PDKI,” Bahrami writes, “which requires commitment and sacrifices.”
Bahrami thus called on the young women and men of Kurdistan to join PDKI’s Pesmerga Forces in order to end oppression in eastern Kurdistan and to achieve the national rights of the Kurdish people.
