Meeting Between the Representative of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan and a Member of the Canadian Parliament
On the evening of Saturday, January 17, 2026, a delegation of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI)—consisting of Esmail Ebrahimi, the Party’s Representative to Canada; Beyan Kurd Farshi, and Shahriar Vizheh—held a meeting, following a formal invitation, with Mr Terry Beech, Member of the Canadian Parliament and a senior figure in the Liberal Party of Canada.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Beech stated that he closely follows developments in Iran and Kurdistan and expressed his solidarity with the Kurdish people and all the peoples of Iran.
The Party’s representative explained the difficult situation in Eastern Kurdistan (Rojhalat) and Iran, and called on the Canadian Parliament and the Government of Canada, at both the domestic and international levels, to apply greater pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran and its affiliated institutions.
The PDKI delegation also urged the Government of Canada to give greater attention to the issue of the nations of Iran, particularly the Kurdish people, and through this approach to increase political and diplomatic pressure on the regime. It was emphasized that Canada’s clear support for a democratic and federal Iran would strengthen the peoples of Iran and contribute to a better future for the country.
In another part of the meeting, the PDKI delegation called on the Government of Canada to expel regime officials and members of the terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from Canada, and to seize their assets, properties, and financial resources for the benefit of the victims of the regime.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Beech pledged that in the coming days he would raise these issues with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, and that he would remain in continuous contact with the Party’s representative regarding these matters.
