New Year’s Message by PDKI leader Mustafa Hijri
I would like to sincerely congratulate all Christians around the world, especially those in Kurdistan, on the arrival of the new year, 2026.
This new year begins at a time when the Islamic Republic of Iran is in a state of clear weakness, erosion, and deep political and management deadlock as an inhumane regime opposed to religious, cultural, and ethnic pluralism. In the final days of 2025, a new wave of widespread dissatisfaction, public protests, demonstrations, and strikes emerged in response to the regime’s pervasive crises and structural inefficiency.
I hope the struggle of Iran’s oppressed peoples and freedom seekers from all social classes will lead to the overthrow of the authoritarian regime. I hope it will put an end to monopolistic mentalities and result in the formation of a democratic, federal state that ensures the freedoms and human and national rights of all peoples living in Iran. I hope it will foster solidarity, justice, and a peaceful, modern life for all.
Mustafa Hijri
Secretary-General of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan
