PDKI Delegation Meets with Representatives of the Norwegian Labour Party
On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a PDKI delegation—led by Amir Babakhani, the party’s representative to Norway—met with Rune Bakervik and Nils-Ole Foshaug, Members of the Norwegian Parliament from the Labour Party (Arbeiderpartiet) and members of its Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence.
The purpose of the meeting was to provide information about the situation in Iran, particularly in Eastern Kurdistan, and to discuss Norway’s role and responsibility regarding the ongoing human rights violations.
The PDKI delegation provided a detailed overview of Iran’s current situation and the causes of the protests, calling for a clearer and more consistent international policy toward Iran. They requested support for democratic and secular values, greater attention to the situation of Kurdistan and Kurds in Iran within the Norwegian Parliament and media, and accountability for the Iranian regime’s attacks and crimes against Eastern Kurdistan and its civilians. They also discussed post-regime challenges and opportunities, emphasizing the need for international support to secure a democratic transition.
The meeting concluded with the Labour Party representatives agreeing to review and forward the proposals. Both sides reaffirmed their shared goal: a democratic Iran based on human rights, the rule of law, justice, and respect for all nations.
