PDKI Representative Briefs French Human Rights Activist on Situation in Eastern Kurdistan
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Kani Jahanqiri, the PDKI representative to France, met with Ms Geneviève Garrigos, a human rights activist and former president of Amnesty International France (AIF) , as well as a candidate for mayor of the 16th arrondissement of Paris, and a close friend of the Kurdish people.
During the meeting, Ms. Jahanqiri provided a detailed briefing on the current situation in Iran and Eastern Kurdistan. She also discussed the recent victims of Eastern Kurdistan, focusing particularly on the regions of Kermanshah, Ilam, and Malekshahi.
Ms. Garrigos expressed concern about the extent of human rights violations committed by the Islamic Republic of Iran and reaffirmed her support for the Kurdish people and other oppressed nations in country.
