PDKI Representative Met Swedish MP Fredrik Malm

Hamid Taimouri, PDKI’s representative to Sweden, met with Fredrik Malm, member of the Swedish parliament from the Liberal Party, to discuss the current situation in Kurdistan.
During the meeting, Taimouri outlined the current situation in eastern (Iranian) Kurdistan. Taimouri informed Malm about the increasing oppression and suppression of the Kurdish people by the Islamist regime in Iran.
Taimouri also informed Malm about the plight of the Kurdish Kolbars (porters) and the demonstrations in eastern Kurdistan following the killing of two Kolbars from the Kurdish city of Baneh by Iranian paramilitary forces.
In the meeting, Iran’s destructive role in the Middle East – particularly in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen – were discussed. Iran interference in the internal affairs of these countries, Taimouri underlined, has led to conflict, instability and violence.
Taimouri also outlined PDKI’s position on southern (Iraqi) Kurdistan’s independence referendum. Fredrik Malm expressed his party’s support for the independence referendum.
