The PDKI UK representative met with MP Fabian Hamilton to discuss the situation in Iran and Kurdistan
On Monday, January 26, 2026, Razgar Alani, the representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (PDKI) in the United Kingdom, met with Mr. Fabian Hamilton, a senior UK Parliament member from the Labour Party. Mr. Hamilton has served on the Foreign Affairs Committee and as the Labour Party’s Shadow Minister for Peace and Disarmament for a long time.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the latest developments in Iran, particularly in Eastern Kurdistan. The discussion focused on recent information about protests in Iran and increasing militarization in Kurdistan.
The PDKI representative highlighted the dire situation of the people in the country, particularly those in Eastern Kurdistan, and stressed the importance of dialogue among Iranian Kurdish parties. He drew attention to social issues and the arrests and persecution of pro-democracy activists by the Iranian regime.
The PDKI representative urged Mr. Hamilton to support the peoples of Iran in their pursuit of freedom and to help facilitate their path toward a faster transition to liberty in Iran. He also requested efforts to ensure that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards are not recognized by the UK government as a legitimate entity, but rather as a terrorist organization.
During the meeting, the current state of the party was also discussed, with Mr. Hamilton reiterating his support and solidarity with the PDKI.
