The Zagros Eagles Attacked Iranian Military Base
The Zagros Eagles carried out a military operation against a highly fortified military base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in the Kurdish city of Xane (Piranshar).
The operation occurred on January 11, 2018 at 23:30 local time. The military operation was in response to the IRGC kidnapping several Kurdish civilians in the region three days prior to January 11.
The Zagros Eagles is a clandestine military organization that fights the Iranian regime in Kurdistan. The Iranian regime’s violent crackdown on peaceful demonstrations has convinced an increasing number of young people to consider armed struggle against the Islamist dictatorship in Tehran as the only means to bring about change.
The members of the Zagros Eagles are said to be predominantly university graduates.
